The fishing tips that I will be mentioning in this page are based on my success in fishing in my life time on the water. I hope that some or all of these tips will help you also!!
The (7) most important things that I follow are:
conditions, locations, patience, confidence, concentration, seasons, & gear…
- Conditions: Check weather, water temperatures, moon type, and color of tides.
- Location: Check the fish counts & see where the fish are biting the most.
- Patience: Is the hardest thing to have, especially when the fish don't want to bite. This is the perfect time to experiment with different depths & tackle. This way you can find the fish and they will come to you…
- Confidence: You need to tell yourself that you’re the fisherman & you will defeat & be in control of the fish. You will not be defeated!!!
- Concentration: For me this is the time to think like a fish. Yes! Like a fish. Why, you ask? Well, if I was a fish and there were a lot of lines with bait, what would make me go after certain bait? The one that is doing something different from everyone else. So move your lines & bait around, tease the fish into a biting mode.
- Seasons: Pick the right time of the season to fish for the fish you would like to catch. Most species have their own time of the season for them to bite …
- Gear: Is one of the most important things that you need as a fisherman. The right gear is needed to catch all of the right kind of fish. You also need to know when and where to use certain type of gear. Every fish bites & fights differently, so rod action, type of reel, size of line, & tackle makes a big difference.
What I Use Is:
- Calstar & jaws rods
- Japanese fluorocarbon line
- Japanese hooks (live bait & long shank hooks )
- Jack`s jigs, 7 inch plastics, hoochi`s. Gulp baits, & a lot of artificial bait
- Use the right reel for what you are fishing for. Match your reel with rod
* Picking & hooking your baits the right way makes a difference. Choose your baits well!!!
One last thing before you start fishing...
I always get an anchovy or a squid and squeeze & rub it on my hands and let them dry. This way its fish oil to fish oil not fish oil to human oil. It does make a difference… **don't try this with sardines, they have small fine bones that get stuck in your hands **
